Many times pets go through long periods of time without getting the proper grooming they need to maintain their coat. This happens sometimes due to life getting busy, fiancial hardships, not being properly educated on the required maintenance their pet needs. Etc. "Whatever the reason" we are not judging you. It happens sometimes and we understand. We will explain the reasons why we take a dogs coat short when they come in for grooming looking like this. We do this so that your pet will have the most comfortable experience possible given the condition of their coat.
There are many occasions people will ask if we can brush out these tangles. I'm sorry but we cannot. Sometimes if a pet has gone a long time without a grooming appointment, they have underlying conditions that we are unaware of, Pets with severe matting are usually prone to things such as ear infections, skin conditions, overgrown nails, as well as behaviour issues. We are not always able to finish the groom in the first session if they are in fact uncomfortable with the grooming process. We will try again at a later date to gain their trust. We will take it short and if you want to maintain their coat going forward we are more then happy to put you and them on a schedule so that they will have the desired haircut in your interest.
