Tanya Ellis has been working in the animal industry for 25 years. Tanya is certified with the Canadian Professional Pet Stylist Association in all breeds. Also, being an award winning competitive groomer, she has learned from some of the best groomers in the industry.

She has owned the very successful and highly rated ‘Pooches n Pals’ Grooming Salon in Port Credit for 10 years, and now owns a second thriving salon in the heart of the Bronte Village in Oakville. Her principal focus being on pet safety and ethical business practices, has earned her several accolades from both Industry professionals as well as her valued clients.

Hello,
My name is Alain Proulx.

I retired in December 2024, from a long career in the warehousing, distribution and logistics.
I bring to the team 50 years of customer service experience in both French and English.
When Tanya asked if I would be interessed in helping at The Dog House, I couldn’t have been happier.
On a part time basis my plan is to help everyone, help Tanya and the team achive the success “The Dog House” deserves to the best of my ability.

What I love about grooming the most is the bond you end up creating with each dog once the groom is over.I also love watching them slowly over time get over their fears of the grooming process.

I love to dry very big hairy dogs.

My goal for grooming is by the end of the year I want to be able to groom 3–4 dogs daily, in a timely manner while not sacrificing quality and the connect[ion] to the dog.

My second goal is to learn more about the business side of things to know if I would enjoy or suit it.

What We Do Best

FULL GROOM

This service helps clean your dog’s fur and skin and shave down the fur on the body (if this is not what you would prefer a bath and tidy might be for you).

Applicable Sizes

Price Range

$90 – $195+

This Service Includes:

Bath

Shampoo and conditioner (can be tailored to their coat/skin type).

Drying

Towel dry and warm air fluff.
Full brush out, if necessary.

Ear Care

Plucking if needed.

Nail Maintenance

Trimmed nails for overall hygiene.

Haircut

Full body haircut according to your preference or the specific needs of the pet (usually a shave down but this service might also be offered if the groom is extensive)
Includes paw and face tidy up.

Aroma Enhancement (Optional)

Common Breeds to Get A Full Groom:

Doodle, Poodle, Cocapoo, Schnauzers, Cocker spaniels

BATH AND TIDY

This service helps clean your dogs fur and skin and trims down the coat. (Usually this service is for dogs with longer hair)

Shampoo and conditioner (according to their coat/skin type)

Drying

Hand dry & warm air fluff (with full brush out if necessary)

Ears cleaned (plucking if needed)

Haircut

Trimming of the fur on the body
Trimming of the Face (if needed), feet, and sanitary areas
Bow or Bandana (optional)

Brush Outs

Included in the grooming but if there is extra matting, a charge of 1$/minute will apply

Behaviour of Pet

If it takes more than 1 person to take care of the needs of your Pooch extra charges will apply depending on the time involved

Golden Retriever, Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, Newfoundland, Great Pyrenees

BATH (No Fur Removed)

This service helps clean your dogs fur and skin but does not include any trimming of the fur. (Usually this service is for dogs with shorter and finer hair)
